MEPHARED

Campus of Charles University in Hradec Králové

The common project of the Medical Faculty and Pharmaceutical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Králové called “Educational and research centre MEPHARED of Charles University in Hradec Králové“, began on the basis of a decision by Charles University to solve the oppressive space situation and inconvenient background of a number of faculties of Charles University.

The long-term aim of the Medical Faculty and Pharmaceutical Faculty is to make organisationally and spatially functional workplaces between faculties and at the same time connecting to the facilities of the Faculty hospital Hradec Králové in one locality. Thus, to create a background for higher quality education, science and research and consequently related connection of theory and practice.

Construction of the Educational centre of the Medical faculty on the premises of the Faculty hospital Hradec Králové, opened in 2005, was the first building - investment step to make educational and research activities of both faculties more attractive and of higher quality. Construction of the first building of the future campus called Mephared 1 (financed from Operational Program Research and Development for Innovation), registration number CZ.1.05/4.1.00/04.0152), opened in 2015, was the second significant step. From the very beginning, Mephared 1 was supposed to be only a phase 1 building Educational and Research Centre Mephared of Charles University in Hradec Králové.
